Fifteen years ago, I picked up a camera and started exploring all the “traditional” genres of photography. I photographed weddings, babies, families… and my dog, Bailey.
Not to be dramatic, but something inside me shifted when Bailey was in front of my lens. Photographing her brought me more joy than anything else. (And not just because she was MY dog.) Soon I was photographing friends’ dogs, then friends of friends’ dogs - and before I knew it, I had a calling.
I think I find so much joy working with dogs because of how beautifully they love us. Their devotion, their joy, their zest for life - it doesn't even need words, but it absolutely deserves to be documented. It’s honest. It’s wholehearted. It's downright admirable. And unfortunately, it’s fleeting.
Bailey passed away last year, but this anniversary year is a celebration of what she gave me - and what the hundreds of families who have trusted me over the past 15 years have given me as well. To mark this milestone, I can't think of anything more fitting than to give back to my clients (both past and future) than with a variety of special anniversary experiences, all of which are designed to honor the pets who change our lives for the better.
Thanks, Bailey. I miss you.
